It's All About Worship

It's all about worship. All of the things we do in our lives with God are about worship. Sunday mornings are about worship. Prayer is about worship. Giving our money is about worship. Studying together is about worship. Sharing gifts and talents is about worship. Reading our Bibles is about worship. Wanting to be together with others and with God is about worship. And, worship is about saying directly to God, "We love you!"

Our world is fast-paced and getting faster. Yet, our God waits for us to slow down and take notice of the continuing peace and presence that is offered. Take the time now to look over the following list of ways that you can help your child begin to put and keep God first and foremost in life.

Read each statement one at a time, and talk to your child about what they mean. Then make a plan to check how well you're doing in each of these special ways to show God you care.

• Praise God! Say thank you to God often especially by coming to worship services each Sunday with more of God's people; sing and learn together.
• Talk to God. Pray often, knowing that you can say whatever is on your heart to God. God wants to know you more and more. When we pray, God knows that we know God is real and able to do things in our lives.
• Give to God. Put your offering in the plate every Sunday to help the church do God's work in the world.
• Study together in Bible Study. When we study together in Bible Study we grow closer to each other and to God.
• Use whatever you can to bless God and others in the world. Sing in choir. Help through missions. Use your special gift from the Spirit as only you can.
• Read your Bible to know more and more about God and more and more about you. Read something from the Bible every day. As you learn and grow the Bible will have more and more to teach you; what we learn in our lives will help us understand and see more and more about our relationship with God through the stories of the Bible.
• Be with your friends at church! When we love each other's company and God at the same time, something special can happen. God multiplies our love, making whatever is happening better than we ever thought possible.
