Summer Camps
For CHILDREN who have completed 3rd through 5th Grades:
Each year, our church takes a group of children to summer camp through PASSPORTkids! This is a camp designed especially for children. The camp is hosted at various sites, including some college campuses. Although this camp allows students through Grade 6, our church reserves another week for the Sixth Graders to attend the PASSPORT camp for youth. (see below: For students who have completed SIXTH GRADE)
For SUMMER 2009, we are planning to take part in the camp experience at Eagle Eyrie in Lynchburg, Virginia. This will take place during the days of Thursday, June 25th through Sunday, June 28th. Note that the kids' camp is only 4 days and 3 nights.
Reservations for camp take place very early…..during the month of October each year! Camp dates and locations are announced in Late August and Early September each year, so please consider this opportunity for your child in the coming year. Spaces may still be available for the current year's camp, but you will need to contact the church office to find out.
For students who have completed SIXTH GRADE:
Our students who will have completed the Sixth Grade by the current summer will attend PASSPORT camp as a group. These students are no longer interested in kids camp, yet are not quite ready to attend camp with the entire Youth group. Ann Marlow, our Minister with Preschoolers & Children, and David Haun, our Minister with Youth & College Students, are chaperones for this camp. In this way, the transition between children's ministry and youth ministry can begin.
For SUMMER 2009, we plan to have a group of SIXTH GRADERS join us as we travel to Wingate University during the week of Sunday, July 12th to Friday, July 17th.
